As part of the Duncan Holt Testimonial the Vets entertained Old Minchendenians.
This was the Vets first game of the season and new manager Barry Smith was looking for a good start. The first half was a tight tense affair with both sides having several chances but the half ended 0-0.
Our opposition finally broke through to score just after half time to lead 1-0.
After some good work debutant Martin Saggers managed to slip the ball through to Taju who finished comfortably to make it 1-1. Then after good pressure debutant Martyn Tribe whipped a good right footed cross over for Taju to head home to give us the lead 2-1.
Rather then see the game out with ten minutes to go we conceded two soft goals to lose the match 3-2.
But Barry was pleased with the effort of all the players and it was a good competitive match to start the season with.
